ECM Fantasy Warrior Photo

Submissions of photo-only artwork images. Read the image-rules on Elftown Creature Marathon (In short, it has to be your image and it has to be free to copy, but it doesn't have to be new). The goal of this contest is to get a nice image of a typical HUMAN fantasy warrior to put on top of the Fantasy Warrior page.

Add your image and a link to your house here.
ALL IMAGES MUST BE UPLOADED TO ELFTOWN!
To upload your image full-size you can use the feature 'Upload a folder of images' that is shown on your house.
This feature allows you to upload one, multiple images or zip-files in their original size to a wikipage.
<URL:upload_zip.html>
Once you click this link you can follow the instructions. See also uploading images.

Upload a great looking photograph of a typical fantasy warrior or a realistically looking photo-manipulation or a dressed up human in case you can't find a real fantasy warrior...

In regards to 'stock photos':

The stock image has to be that of an Elftown member and for a photo entry, there has to be a substantial amount added/done with it to enter it. - The Council.

EACH MEMBER MAY SUBMIT ONE (1) ENTRY
Exceptions might be offered if there is a valid reason for it. But, if you do submit more than one image, you will greatly lower your chance of winning, as the votes for your style will be spread out on two entries.

Except for the normal badges and stuff, the winner will get credits on what we hope will be the best page about fantasy warriors. We will pick one fantasy warrior-photo or more as winners.

Please note the extremely long deadline! It's because fantasy warriors tend to be pretty rare and we want the best shots we can get.

THEME:
Any entry that does not follow the "Fantasy Warrior theme", will be removed.

MEDIUM:
Photography with a minimal amount of manipulation. We don't want images that look too artistically modified.

If you have photos of atypical fantasy warriors, you're welcome to submit them here, but we'll mark them as outside of contest.

REMEMBER THE GOAL: We want:
- The BEST QUALITY photos
- The MOST TYPICAL "Fantasy Warrior" photos
- LARGE PHOTOS
...to represent Elftown having the best Fantasy Warrior Page on the Internet as part of the Elftown Creature Marathon!

What is a typical fantasy warrior?

Well, there are many kinds, but to win this contest you need something that clearly shows that it's a fantasy warrior. A fantasy warrior with an oh, so magical sword, isn't considered a good illustration of a fantasy warrior, if he looks just like a medieval knight.

Some tricks to make it more fantasy
You have to have some proof that your photo is a fantasy warrior and not just a normal warrior. These are a few suggestions:
- The weapon has to be BIG, bigger than is practical.
Plain swords are boring. If it is a sword, then it should have spikes.
- Lots of hair, looking no way near normal, natural hair.
- Loads of muscles or huge, unpractical breasts, if it's a female warrior.
- The armour might be very heavy plate-armour, but for some reason it doesn't cover the face, the stomach and the upper legs and arms.
- Fairies sitting on the warrior or glowing magical items.

Some "don't"s:
No, it's not a child. It's not a fat person. The warrior might be old, but must appear to be in fighting condition.

Some OK's:
Different genders, races and types of warriors are allowed. You can have Greek, medieval European or Japanese, Roman, Celtic, Viking or something else as a background, but it has to have some fantasy in it.

Three important notations:

---> #1: When the finalists are posted in the Main Street Poll or on a public poll page, the participants are not allowed to beg for votes for their own entry. Do not ask people to vote for your entry via private messages, guestbook messages, moods, wikis, or by any other means. Your entry will be disqualified if you are caught doing so. It is perfectly fine to advertise THE POLL, however!
---> #2: If you feel any of the entries break the rules, please speak up before the entries make it to the polls. You can still speak up even after the contest is closed, as long as the polls have not yet gone up yet. Complaints received after the aforementioned will not be considered valid.
---> #3: For discussions about the Elftown competitions: Here it's discussed if an entry is in accordance with the rules and similarly more complicated issues that can't be solved with a simple wiki-comment. Go to: <forum:Elftown contests>

/Thank you - the ECM Mods and the Elftown Council.

Insert number, your name, and your image here, after the last, previous entry. Use "img300" to insert the image if it's bigger than that (And it should be! Please upload big photos!).

Title your entries, please!

A title more than just "Warrior or Fantasy Warrior" is needed.
Thank you!

2007-09-30 [Wulf Skjaldr]: Hmmm... let me pose a question, what is a "typical" fantasy warrior?

2007-10-01 [Hedda]: http://www.elfwood.com/art/y/o/young/oristeps2.jpg.html
http://www.elfwood.com/art/k/u/kuusirati/chainmail.jpg.html

I can't find the wonderful image of the girl with the enormous hair, chainmail bikini, huge twohand sword, a strange piece of armour on one knee and an undersized body (except the boobs) that never could wield such a sword.

2007-10-01 [Jitter]: Only image I found close to your description is this: http://www.elfwood.com/art/d/r/dragonstone/barbarian_sword_maiden.jpg.html  but she doesn't wear a chainmail bikini<img:stuff/mood21-gif.gif>

2007-10-01 [Jitter]: Well yeah there are certain attributes when you "roll" a characetr in D&D for example you can choose among certain dice rolled amounts how strong your player would be.

Quoting Wikipedia: "Before the game begins, each player creates his or her player character (PC) and records the details (described below) on a character sheet. First, a player rolls dice to determine his or her character's ability scores, which consist of strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom and charisma."

A warrior would choose a high constitution and strength amount but his intelligence and wisdom amounts can be very very low. I remember I rolled a barbarian that couldn't even speak because I had to sacrifice his intelligence x)those were really bad rolls -.- *giggles*

2007-10-01 [Jitter]: *plugs her own art* http://elftown.eu/stuff/mhbarbare.jpg :P

2007-10-05 [Nightfall]: I think when talking typical warrior chick- scantily clothed and holding big weapons... this might apply :p
http://www.us.playstation.com/heavenlysword/images/media/swordWP_1d.jpg

2007-10-05 [Jitter]: And nifty artwork too :3

2007-10-06 [Hedda]: Poor orc!

But... Doesn't that belong better on the ECM Orc Photo page?

Oh, the description here is bad. It shouldn't be any fantasy warrior, but my intention was human fantasy warriors (and the other races generally go to their contests).
